Stanley, up close
Stanley sits on a small peninsula on the Island's south coast, with a noticeably slower, more seaside feel than the districts a few kilometres north over the ridge.
Stanley Market
A dense covered market of clothing, souvenirs and homeware stalls, one of the older tourist markets in Hong Kong and still a popular stop on a south-side day out.
Murray House
A colonial-era building relocated stone-by-stone from Central to Stanley's waterfront in the late 1990s, now housing restaurants with a sea view.
The beaches
Stanley Main Beach is a popular, easily reached swimming spot, and the waterfront promenade running past the market makes for one of the more relaxed walks on the Island.
