Our editorial standards

As the site has grown, a few working rules have shaped what actually gets published — worth stating plainly rather than leaving implicit.

What we verify before publishing

Any page naming a specific business — a restaurant, hotel or shop — is checked against current, available sources before it goes live: is it still open, is a stated award or recognition (like a Michelin listing) still current, is a stated address still accurate. Where we can't confirm something confidently, we either leave it out or say so explicitly on the page.

What we don't do

  • We don't publish specific prices, ticket costs or exact opening hours we haven't been able to verify from a reliable current source — these change often and a wrong number is worse than no number.
  • We don't invent quotes, reviews, or first-hand experiences we haven't had.
  • We don't rank businesses against each other on a page where we haven't independently compared them.

Corrections

If something on the site is wrong or out of date, we'd genuinely like to know — see our contact page. Corrections are made directly to the page rather than buried in a separate errata list.

Independence

See our advertising & disclosure page for how (and whether) any commercial relationships affect what's covered.
